The Shepherd CCS Project was announced a year ago by SK Earthon, SK Energy, Samsung Heavy Industry, Samsung Engineering and Lotte Chemical, who signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Petronas, Malaysia’s state-run oil company.
Now, in addition to Shell and Hanwha, several other members also joined the CCS agreement, namely Korea National Oil Corporation and Air Liquide Korea.
The program participants have already pinpointed a location for the carbon capture hub in Korea and have also selected a storage location in Malaysia.
