Mr. Luqman Ahmad

Mr. Luqman Ahmad was appointed as Deputy Secretary General (Macro), Ministry of Economy on 7 February 2023. His current portfolios include formulating development policies and strategies in macroeconomics, services and manufacturing industries, knowledge economy, science and technology, environmental economics, planning for the allocation of development expenditures, overseeing coordination efforts on sustainable development goals (SDGs) and championing Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage initiatives in Malaysia. Mr. Luqman’s career as a government official started in 1993 as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture until 2007. In the ensuing years, he served at the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department (EPU) which is now known as Ministry of Economy for the next 17 years, holding various positions related to economic analysis and forecasting, public finance management and budgeting as well as economic development. Prior to his current position, he served as Director of Human Capital Development Division Ministry of Economic Affairs. Having spent 32 illustrious years as a government official, he has gained in-depth experience and expertise in governance and administration on an array of subject matters. Mr. Luqman holds a degree in Political Science from University of Texas, USA. In 2007, he completed his Masters in Economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

루크만 아마드 사무차장은 2023년 2월 7일 말레이시아 경제부 사무차장으로 임명되어, 제조, 서비스업, 과학기술, 환경, CCUS 등 말레이시아 거시경제 전반의 개발 정책과 전략 수립을 담당하고 있습니다. 1993년 공직 생활을 시작으로 2007년까지 말레이시아 농림부에서 행정외교관으로 근무했으며, 그 후 경제부에서 경제분석, 공공재정 관리 및 예산 편성, 경제 발전 관련 다양한 직무를 수행하며 경험을 쌓았습니다. 현 직책 이전, 그는 경제부의 부문장으로 근무했으며 총 32년의 공직생활을 통해 행정 경험과 전문 지식을 쌓았습니다. 루크만 아마드 사무차장은 텍사스 대학교 (University of Texas) 에서 정치학 학위를 받았으며, 2007년 말레이시아 국립대학교 (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) 에서 경제학 석사학위를 받았습니다.
